New Manhattan Beach Restaurant, Circa

Circa

Manhattan Beach has welcomed another Restaurant, Circa, into the downtown Manhattan Beach, on Manhattan Ave. Circa, is a  warm, vintage, industrial space that has 130 seats. Circa serves global cuisine that is tapa style, or meant for sharing. Award-winning chef Octavio Becerra, created the menu items, and made sure to include global flavors in his cooking. The global flavors  coupled with the cozy nature of the decor gives restaurant goers, the ultimate restaurant experience. Dishes that are recommended to try at Circa include the steamed buns / crispy pork belly / quail egg / spicy scallion relish and Korean beef short ribs with spicy root vegetables.

Sample Menu items include:

• basturma = Turkish cured salmon / caraway potato latke / shaved cucumber
• steamed dumplings / lamb / goat cheese / black olive / marjoram
• raviolo en “brodo” / “in broth” / ricotta cheese / porcini custard / kale / parmigiano
• black olive gnocchi / dungeness crab / nettles / English peas / meyer lemon
• charred octopus / gigande beans / chorizo / wild brocolini / purple mustard
• crispy pork belly / gnarly carrots / bok choy / citrus-salsa verde
• Asian fried chicken / Seoul slaw / herb + lettuce cups

The menu at Circa is diverse and packed with flavor! The drink menu at circa is just as impressive, and offers a wide range of craft cocktails created by Executive Beverage Directors Julian Cox and Josh Goldman. Circa is  also open on the weekends with music until 2 a.m.

Gotta love the Manhattan Beach Farmers’ Market

I have to admit that when I explore the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market almost every Tuesday, I am at odds with myself. Do I go for a hearty Philly Cheese steak? Or do I go for a healthy stack of organic, locally grown vegetables? Tough choice…

The Manhattan Beach Farmers Market is a great staple of the Manhattan Beach Community. It is a place where runners can pass by and grab a healthy bite or where working people can go on their lunch break and grab something to eat before heading back to the office. The Manhattan Beach Farmers Market is a great place for families as well. Parents can take their kids to the farmers market and hitch a ride on the Downtown train, which is a special feature of the Manhattan Beach farmers market. Aside from selling various organic foods and items such as fruits, vegetables, olive oil, and handmade crafts. The farmers market also has a wide variety of food vendors including Crepe vendors, Greek Cuisine vendors, and the wonderful Philly Cheese steak vendor. The aromas that fill the air are delicious, the sight of kids playing and laughing is enjoyable, and the live music is harmonious… did I mention that the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market has live music?

The Farmers Market is a great opportunity to support local business and growers, Relax and enjoy a great atmosphere, and have a nice Philly Cheese steak…or organic salad. The Famers Market is held on different days of the Week. Check out when the Famers Market is in RedondoHermosaTorrance and El Segundo.

Great restaurant for lunch in Manhattan Beach- Wahoo’s Tacos

After seeing some spectacular Manhattan beach homes on brokers’ caravan today, Randy Leaf, of our real estate team suggested we take advantage of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos 25 cents Friday. In honor of their 25th anniversary they are offering 25 cent tacos on the 25th day of every month in 2013.

Wahoo’s Taco’s located in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach, CA  is a great place for a healthy & delicious lunch. The ambiance is casual, the service is friendly, the food is awesome and the menu has plenty of options to appease any appetite.

I highly recommend getting their famous grilled fish tacos Cajun style. For me, one fish taco with brown rice and black beans was plenty to fill me up!

Great Sushi in North Manhattan Beach Sand Section

Great Sushi in North Manhattan Beach Sand Section

Sushi Restaurant Review for Manhattan Beach California provided by Randy Leaf of The Dave Salzman Real Estate Team.

If you like Sushi, Katsu! is an owner operated Sushi Restaurant you should try – and, if you are not a sushi fan, they have cooked and non-seafood items on the menu as well.

Katsu! Is located in the North Manhattan Beach Sand Section, on the Southeast corner of Highland and Rosecrans Ave. There is plenty of parking nearby in the parking structure across Rosecrans, or on the street, but bring some coins for the parking meters.

This prime location gives patrons beautiful ocean views from the dining room and from the Sushi Bar. This is a nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery while having lunch or enjoying dinner with friends while watching a beautiful Manhattan Beach sunset.

Katsu and his staff are friendly and know most of their customers by name, which makes it apparent there are many repeat customers.

I had the Bento Box Special Lunch which included soup, salad, rice, pork curry, tempura and a spicy tuna roll (or California roll) for $14 with hot tea. The tempura was cooked just right, and the curry was flavorful. All of their menu items are reasonably priced.

The sushi is fresh and presented in an artistic and appetizing manner. Not only does the food look great, but it tastes even better. Katsu! Is open for lunch M-F 11:30am – 2:30 pm, and dinner starting at 5:30 pm daily, including a “Happy Hour” from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

The food is reasonably priced and tastes great.

Fame Optimum Condimentum

Bold and Bright on the west wall of the North End Caffe are these words–translated from the Latin:  “Hunger is the Best Seasoning.”   However, hungry or not this restaurant “nails it” on freshness, flavor and creativity.  We LOVE this restaurant.  Taya Asimos and I went to lunch here today.  (When I stop in for  breakfast I always have “Eggs From Hell” a deliciously spicy egg dish–after you taste this dish once, just try and order something else!)  However, today, on the lunch menu, I ordered the Jalisco salad.  Fresh greens, cucumber, turkey, green tomatillo sauce and avocado – not only Yum and Double Yum.

Here's what Taya had for lunch:The Mario Salad- prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella, checca & fried egg on spring greens

The atmosphere is crowded and bustling, but with indoor and outdoor dining, AMAZING coffee, wonderful iced teas and — quite simply — extremely tasty food, I have been pleased every time I have eaten here. Don’t miss this restaurant – hungry or not!!
